The Royal Oak was reopened after a major refurbishment in April 2026 by the team behind the nearby Brownlow Inn. The pub has two main areas, both tastefully furnished in a comfortable and modern style, and available for both drinkers and diners. Light oak tables, wooden chairs, and upholstered stools and fixed seating sit on a hardwood floor. On the bar, three hand pumps serve Draught Bass and two further cask beers from local breweries. The is also a range of keg beers, lagers, and ciders plus a well-stocked back bar. NOTE: as of April 2026, some external refurbishment work is ongoing, it is recommended to check opening times before travelling
